The Robert J. Waters Center for Telelhealth & e-Health Law (CTeL) posts various policy topics in regards to telehealth and telemedicine. One of those topics involves Credentialing and Privileging. Credentialing is how hospitals evaluate physicians and verify their qualifications to ensure that they are getting the highest quality of care for their patients. Following credentialing is another process, called Privileging where a hospital further evaluates a provider’s competence in a specific specialization or field.
