Usually a telehealth visit does not cost more than an in-person visit. Sometimes a telehealth visit reduces your out-of-pocket costs since you do not have to pay for gas, parking, bus fare, child care, or other expenses to go to your doctor’s or other healthcare provider’s office.
During this COVID-19 crisis, many health insurance plans are not charging co-pays, deductibles, or co-insurance so that patients, doctors, other healthcare providers and clinic staff can stay safe. For more information about costs, please refer to the Who Provides Telehealth Services section or call your health insurance plan.
