Eric Dishman, an Intel Fellow and General Manager of the Health & Life Sciences Group in the Intel Data Center Group, gave a presentation at the Queen’s Conference Center on April 11, 2014. The title of his presentation was “Collaborative Care Models: Building a Seamless Health Care System and Using Technology to Successfully Age in Place.” This presentation: 1) Identified strategies and solutions of successful collaborative models of care – focus on seamless health care systems: bringing healthcare home; 2) Explained how to create a seamless health care system integrating personal health technology and community-based care; and 3) Discussed how people can successfully self manage their health, and practice healthy living to better empower themselves and families.
Following his presentation, a panel of Hawaiʻi experts also gave presentations:
- Deborah Birkmire-Peters, PhD, Program Director, Pacific Basin Telehealth Resource Center, gave an overview of the current state of telehealth in Hawaiʻi and the role of the Pacific Basin Telehealth Resource Center
- Deborah Arendale, Executive, Maui County Office on Aging, provided information on the Aging and Disability Resource Center
- Ken Cheung, PhD, Science and Technology Director, Oceanit, presented several medical technologies under development at Oceanit
