The Hawaiʻi Healthcare Project, a public-private partnership between the Office of the Governor and Hawaiʻi healthcare industry stakeholders, organized the 2013 Hawaiʻi Healthcare Summit at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. A major focus was on the State of Hawaiʻi’s roadmap for healthcare transformation and implementation of the Affordable Care Act. Telehealth was mentioned as a major component of the State health care transformation plan. The conference breakout sessions included topics on: health information technology, employee wellness programs, patient-centered medical home models, behavioral health, and care coordination.
