Bill Signing: Senate Bill 2469 (Relating to Telehealth) – June 30, 2014

On June 30, 2014, Governor Neil Abercrombie of the State of Hawaii signed into law Senate Bill 2469: Relating to Telehealth. This bill requires equivalent reimbursement for services, including behavioral health services, provided through telehealth as for the same services provided through face-to-face contact between a healthcare provider and a patient. In addition, for consistency purposes, the bill changes statutory references of “telemedicine” to “telehealth”. To view the bill in its entirety, please click HERE.
